Brent Turner, M.Ed, – has been passionate about music and the marching arts since beginning to play trumpet in Des Moines, Iowa at Western Hills Elementary School. His experiences include solo trumpet, quintet, orchestra, concert band, wind ensemble, jazz band and marching band at all levels of K-12 public education and at the University of Minnesota. Brent was drum major at Parkway West High School in 1986 where he also received the John Phillips Sousa award. He was a member of the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps from 1987-1989 and continued teaching the Scouts through 1996. His experiences in the University of Minnesota Marching Band as rank lieutenant and section leader broadened his definition and passion for the marching arts.
Brent is a clinician for drum majors and visual programs in the upper Midwest. He continues his public music advocacy through his Youth In Music organization (www.youthinmusic.org) which sponsors scholarships, clinics, band camps and an Upper Midwest.
Championships in the HHH Metrodome late in October.
Brent joins the Stanbury Uniform family after teaching at Eden Prairie High School in Minnesota for 12 years. He currently lives in Apple Valley, MN which is the geographic center of the MN, IA, and WI territory he serves. Turner continues to play his trumpet and conduct local ensembles in community & church events. Todd Dufault joins Brent Turner as a Stanbury Regional Sales Representative for Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin.
Todd grew up a band director’s son in Waseca, MN where his father built a strong instrumental program back in the late 70’s, 80’s and early 90’s. Through his father’s influence, Todd developed a passion for music and the marching arts which led him to being involved for over 40 years He was drum major in 1983 leading the Waseca Marching Jays in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. He then went onto march in college after playing college basketball and baseball. He became a visual instructor, clinician, adjudicator and eventually fell in love with Student Leadership after meeting his mentor, Dr. Tim Lautzenheiser in 1988. Todd spent 13 years with the Rosemount HS Marching Band as a visual instructor and was part of a staff that built a highly competitive BOA band through-out the country.
Todd also has drum corps experience spending time on the instructional staff with the Madison Scouts and becoming the first corps director of River City Rhythm in 2015, the first junior corps in Minnesota. He did all the recruiting and served as corps director for the first two years of existence.
For more than 25 years, Todd has served as a Leadership Education and Training Consultant, working with schools and marching band programs on servant leadership culture development, strategic planning, growth mindset, trust, ownership and communication. He does motivational speaking, consults, coaches and conducts leadership training around the country. He is also an independent certified coach, teacher, trainer and speaker for the John Maxwell team.
Todd joins the Stanbury Uniform family after several years at Wenger Corporation. He resides in Wyoming, MN with his wife, Michelle. They have five children and five grandchildren. Todd has an extensive sports background. A High School basketball coach and an avid Gopher Football and Basketball fan. His passion continues to be the marching arts, leadership and building strong relationships with his customers.
